With a unique combination of an economics degree and Java developer training, as well as experience with ERP systems in several industries, our new employee strengthens Noresca as a NetSuite consultant, Sevak Rostomyan

Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I am 30 years old and grew up in Uppsala, where I live today with my wife and our one-year-old daughter. My academic background combines economics and technology, with a master’s degree in economics and an education as a Java developer. Professionally, I have a broad experience in finance and business systems, where I have worked in various roles that have given me insights into both strategic and operational processes.

Outside of work, I am active in community activities and co-founder of an association that invests in education in Armenia, the country I come from. The association focuses on providing scholarships and equipment to small IT schools. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, hiking and camping.

Can you share more about your work experience and the positions you have held in the past?
I have held several roles over the years, but my favorite was as a financial consultant with my last employer. There I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of assignments in different industries and roles, which gave me valuable insights and a strong network of contacts.

During my time as a consultant, I worked with clients in banking, debt collection, e-commerce, and claims and industrial services. I had roles that involved handling customer and supplier accounts, invoicing, reconciliations and support in financial statements, as well as streamlining work processes. My work has also given me experience of business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Visma and Medius.

These assignments broadened my skills and strengthened my ability to quickly adapt to new working environments and deliver value to clients. I enjoy the flexibility and challenges of the consulting role, especially the opportunity to meet new people and contribute to the success of different companies. This approach is well reflected in the way we work at Noresca, where each client and project offers unique opportunities to develop and create real value.

What led you to take an interest in Noresca and how did you get in touch with them?
As I said, my background is in finance, and I have worked as a financial consultant, a role that suited me well because of its flexibility and variety of assignments. However, I realized that accounting and bookkeeping was not something I wanted to do in the long term. Instead, I wanted to combine finance and IT, which led me to train as a Java developer to work as an ERP consultant.

I applied for the position as a NetSuite consultant at Noresca via LinkedIn, and the choice felt obvious. NetSuite is a well-known ERP system, and I discovered that Noresca is a leader in the field in Sweden, with ambitions to become the best in Europe – something that is extra motivating for me. The company shares my values and is open to innovation, especially in the implementation of AI tools in daily work, which I am passionate about.

What are your expectations and goals now that you are here at Noresca?
I look forward to building on my knowledge and becoming a valuable part of the team. One of my goals is to become an expert in NetSuite while helping to streamline our customers’ operations. I also hope to combine my experience from finance and development to create solutions that make a real difference. To grow professionally together with a team that shares my ambition and drive is something I value highly.
