Five quick ones for Ulf-Björn Rönn
The story of how Ulf-Björn Rönn came to Noresca is exciting. Ulf-Björn worked as CFO at Ridestore during the implementation of NetSuite, which Noresca was responsible for. The implementation was done in record time, in addition to establishing itself on a new continent, which then paved the way for a rare success story with more than doubled turnover and tripled profits, today Ridestore has a turnover of well over a billion. Ulf-Björn was the driving force behind the implementation of a new business system. Noresca and Rönn worked very successfully together, the rest is history.
We caught up with Rönn on the train between Gothenburg & Stockholm when he was on his way to a meeting with Matsmart.
Your journey to Noresca comes from the customer side, which is not entirely unusual for Noresca. Tell us briefly about your experience?
Yes, it was an extremely hectic period where we had to implement a new business system (NetSuite) in record time in order to scale up the business. It was long days and weekends for both us at Ridstore & Noresca but we reached the goal with a little margin actually. Considering that the start to go-live was four months and also in a completely new market for Ridestore, it could not have gone better.
You have an interesting background, tell us a bit?
-“Yes, it gets like that over the years, the CV of 20 years ago could fit on an A4 today it takes three,” laughs Ulf-Björn. There have been a number of different roles and companies over the years, everything from CFO and CIO to accounting manager at companies such as Euromaster, Scorett, Nelly, ECCO…. a lot of retail and e-commerce has been done.
What do you mainly work with at Noresca
-The everyday life is definitely varied here at Noresca. I work with everything from analysis and design of business processes to internal work for Noresca regarding processes & financial management, but the most fun is probably to help customers with advice and tips for their international expansion.
You have worked with several different ERP systems, it would be interesting to hear what you find so unique about NetSuite?
-That it is globally scalable and easy to grow with. A global database that is constantly consolidated makes the business easier and more agile. Easy to integrate with. For companies looking towards international expansion, this is crucial.
Can you see any trends, is there anything special that customers are asking for, are certain questions becoming more common?
-“At the moment I would say support for circuit systems, that you can integrate existing solutions into NetSuite. Many of our customers ask questions about how to establish themselves in different countries, what support does NetSuite have and how can we help them?
What is it like to work at Noresca?
-Stimulating and joyful, you make a difference. The company has the most experienced NetSuite consultants in the Nordic region, so there is always someone to ask for help if you get stuck with something. Then it’s fun that Noresca itself is a growth company, we received the DI Gazelle award a few months ago.
